Mission Snapshot

Build a Competitive Solar Vehicle

Design and manufacture a solar-electric vehicle capable of competing in national collegiate solar car competitions.

Train Industry-Ready Engineers

Develop technical, leadership, and systems-level skills through hands-on engineering and real project constraints.

Inspire STEM Through Outreach

Share hands-on engineering with students and the community through demonstrations, tours, and classroom visits.

What We Do

Solar Devils operates as a full end-to-end engineering program. Our team designs, builds, integrates, and tests a solar-electric vehicle before taking it to national competition. Students work across the complete lifecycle of a complex system, balancing performance, safety, reliability, schedule, and budget while operating in a real project environment.

Aerodynamics & Structures

Lightweight, aerodynamic body and structural systems.

Electrical Architecture

Power systems including solar array, batteries, and safety electronics.

Embedded & Software

Vehicle control, sensing, telemetry, and data acquisition.

Energy Strategy & Telemetry

Real-time data analysis for race optimization.

Manufacturing & Integration

Fabrication, assembly, and system-level integration.

Testing & Validation

Structured testing to verify performance and safety.

Business Operations & Sponsorships

Funding, partnerships, logistics, and outreach.
